How cute is this shark in someone’s front yard? Children from around the neighborhood all came together to make a snow shark. Not only is it amazing, but it makes me so happy to know children worked together, OUTSIDE, and used their imaginations!!!!!
* a pink rod is a must….you might not catch more fish but you will look super cute
*a lot of women and children ice fish…..more than i see during the summer
* sharp blades and the correct size blades on an auger make drilling a hole much easier…..also let the boys do that because their shoulders burn the next day 😂
*you must be willing to pee in a bucket
*you are sitting for long periods of time, so bring some snacks!
There is something so calming about watching seagulls flying over Lake Erie. Some people refer to them as lake rats, but i think they are beautiful! Today we saw dozens of them while we were ice fishing!
Today i tried ice fishing. John has been ice fishing many times, but this was a new adventure for me. Wow it was really fun. When he asked me if i wanted to go i said “yes but I’m scared!” That feeling didn’t change until i was walking up to the ice. I couldn’t believe how many people were on the ice. There were men, woman and children everywhere. I immediately felt so much better. I also felt so much better when i looked in the hole and saw just how thick the ice actually was. Overall it was an amazing adventure and i knew i was in good hands. I look forward to doing it again. Honestly this is my idea of a fun weekend and i truly enjoy doing outdoor activities with my husband! ‘
Another snowy morning. There is something so beautiful about waking up to everything covered in white. The sun is shining and everything looks as though it is covered in glitter. That excitement ends quickly when i realize i need to leave the house and go outside in the cold.
Remember when we were kids and snow was so exciting? Snowball fights. Snow forts. Snowmen. All such amazing memories. Now i get to watch the joy in children’s eyes as they play outside in the snow. I don’t enjoy the cold or the snow, but i embrace it! How many more weeks until summer??????
My amazing husband took me on a hike in rural Ohio. As we were walking into the woods we passed a father and son. They were dressed in camouflage and the father had a rifle over his shoulder. John asked him if they had any luck and he replied “no we were hoping to have some coyote sightings!” What???? Where did my husband bring me? I was so anxious but there was something so calming about breathing the brisk air and hearing only the cracking of our footsteps and gunfire in the distance. We only saw a few birds, but the scenery was breathtaking. It was 30 degrees out and the sun was peaking in and out of the clouds. We walked through the woods, up by Spencer Lake, and through an open field. Best way to spend a Saturday!
