Nature Walk

Slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures in life…

This weekend John and i went on a nature walk. We went to Old Woman’s Creek, in Huron Ohio. We were hoping to catch some eagles flying around, but I’m sure they were out earlier in the morning. It was a warm morning, but it was beautiful. The park has several dozen small bird houses that attract so many different species of birds! We also saw a bullfrog and tons of chipmunks. On the creek there was a couple kayaking. They were as happy about the beautiful day as we were.

Picnic in the park

Is there anything better then a picnic on the shores of Lake Erie? We ordered Berardi’s burgers and fries for carry out and we sat and ate I’m a small park in Huron, Ohio. The weather was perfect and the view was equally as perfect! It was kind of hazy out but i could still see Cedar Point just down the shore line. Won’t be long until those rides will be filled with screaming rollercoaster fanatics.

Abby really enjoyed the park. I believe she smelled every inch of the grass area. She made friends with some small children and she wanted to play with all the dogs that passed. We tried taking her in the lake but she wasn’t to sure about it. As soon as she was in she would high step and run out. To be fair the water was really cold and she’s kind of a princess, so that might have had something to do with it. I guess we will have to try again as the weather gets warmer!

American White Pelicans

So amazing to see these beauties flying over Lake Erie in Huron, Ohio. They were gorgeous and so graceful as they changed formations. They flew in a large circle several times. I didn’t have my tripod with me but i got the best shots i could. Shout out to my mom who spotted them just as we were packing up to leave!

The American white pelican’s breed in interior North American, moving south and to the coasts, as far as Central America and South America, in the winters!
