LEWT tournament #2

Well the boys had their second tournament of the season. It was a 2 day tournament launched out of Sandusky, Ohio. This tournament was combined with the Masters Walleye Circuit. Lots of teams and lots of amazing fishermen!

Day 1 was cold! I mean cold and wet and miserable. But of course the boys were fine all day out on the boat. My family and i went to weigh ins and we were frozen. It was so nice we could be there to see John weigh in their 5 fish for the day. The weighed in just over 23 pounds, which put them pretty much in the middle of the pack!

Day 2 was 40° warmer. No joke it was about 80° outside. Absolutely gorgeous day to be on the water all day. The boys headed east to fish this day! They found fish but just not “big” fish! They weighed in 5 fish for just over 16 pounds. They came in 100 out of 168.

Lake Erie Walleye Trail

My husband and his buddy Jimmy are fishing in the Lake Erie walleye tournament. It’s individual 1 and 2 day tournaments over several months. They are fishing in 4 out of the 6 which will qualify them for the championship in the fall!

These two have been so excited for this. They have done so much to prepare. They are extremely intelligent fishermen and it makes me so proud to see how much time they put in to preparing for each tournament.

Well their first day out and they came in 16th out of 73!!!! Seriously how awesome is that!? They woke up at 3am and were checked in by 5:30am. They enjoyed hanging out and meeting all the other teams before they left marina.

A Beautiful ending to 2021!

Today was gorgeous. It was 50° and sunny. Not your typical weather for the end of December in Cleveland Ohio. We of course decided we needed to spend the day outside. After our morning workout we headed to Huron. The public boat launch looked like a summer afternoon! We fished on the pier with our friend, Gene. I was super excited to use my brand new wagon that john got me for Christmas! My dad was doing important year end stuff for work, but during his break they brought Abby for a walk and joined us!!! I was able to take photos while the boys tended to the rods in the lake. I also made lots of four legged friends. We ended up with 2 perch just over 11” each. While John was bleeding out the fish, he also bled himself out 🙄. Thank goodness he married a nanny whose mother is a nurse. We cleaned with some water, put a bandaid on it and then wrapped it with a clean sock! He was good as new, at least enough to get us home. Overall excellent day spent with friends and family.

Proud wife!

There are so many things about my husband that make me proud, but seeing him smile while he is fishing brings so much joy to my heart! We are in the middle of the fall brawl tournament and my husband has been very busy fishing during all his free time. He recently caught a larger fish that put him on the leader board. Now as the temps start to fall, the fish start to weigh more so the hunt for a bigger fish continues. But look how happy he is!

A walk along the lake

Is there anything better? Not when it comes to exercise. I absolutely love walking along the lake for my daily workout. There is just something so peaceful. I always cut through a small lake community that reminds me of my grandmas home town in West Virginia. I don’t quite know what it is but it makes me smile every time. I love to walk down by the marina and see all the fishermen. Sometimes i stop and chat and sometimes i just say hello. The scenery is always breathtaking and everyone is so friendly.

Beach Break!

The weather outlook for this week is WET! Lots and lots of rain. Seems to be the theme this summer. After the 4 of us ate lunch today we saw there was a few hour break in the weather. We headed to the lake (of course) and walked around looking for seaglass. The girls actually found some pretty great pieces!

We took our yearly beach picture that we have recreated 3 times now!!!

John and i took a photo on the end of the pier where we got engaged!

These crazy kids never listen. The pier literally says no jumping or diving but here they are jumping 😂

On the way home we stopped at the local ice cream shop. The girls and John enjoyed a treat. The only sugar free yogurt option was butter pecan so i passed and made myself a treat later in the day!

Small town America!

There is nothing better then small lake towns. Well ok there might be some better things, but to me this is my happiness. I love having Lake Erie right in my backyard. I love the calmness and uniqueness of these small towns that line the coast. In the summer the streets are lined with tourist and locals enjoying restaurants, bars, festivals and of course the lake. In the winter it is quiet and peaceful. Small town America is my happiness. I am and always be just a small town girl and i finally met my small town guy! Today we enjoyed Huron, Ohio from the water!

The serenity of the lake!

The lake brings a sense of calm to my life. Whether I’m on land, on a boat, swimming or laying on the beach, i am at peace!

These first few photos i took from my parents house in Huron. I am so blessed to have access to this gorgeous area!

The next few photos i took while on the boat fishing. There was a poker run passing through Huron and heading to Put-In-Bay. It was really neat to see all the fancy and colorful cigarette boats. It was also very exciting to see the film crew in the helicopter chasing and hovering over them!
