Picnic in the park

Is there anything better then a picnic on the shores of Lake Erie? We ordered Berardi’s burgers and fries for carry out and we sat and ate I’m a small park in Huron, Ohio. The weather was perfect and the view was equally as perfect! It was kind of hazy out but i could still see Cedar Point just down the shore line. Won’t be long until those rides will be filled with screaming rollercoaster fanatics.

Abby really enjoyed the park. I believe she smelled every inch of the grass area. She made friends with some small children and she wanted to play with all the dogs that passed. We tried taking her in the lake but she wasn’t to sure about it. As soon as she was in she would high step and run out. To be fair the water was really cold and she’s kind of a princess, so that might have had something to do with it. I guess we will have to try again as the weather gets warmer!

American White Pelicans

So amazing to see these beauties flying over Lake Erie in Huron, Ohio. They were gorgeous and so graceful as they changed formations. They flew in a large circle several times. I didn’t have my tripod with me but i got the best shots i could. Shout out to my mom who spotted them just as we were packing up to leave!

The American white pelican’s breed in interior North American, moving south and to the coasts, as far as Central America and South America, in the winters!

Ohio is confused

Is it winter? Spring? Summer?

It seems to be all the seasons every week. We go up and down 30 degrees every other day. I’m ready for summer!!!!!

Last week we had a super warm and beautiful day so my husband and i hung out at my parents and enjoyed some time at Lake Erie. It was an absolutely gorgeous day!

After a few more very cold days, Saturday afternoon decided to warm up to 70 with the sun shining down on us. John and Jimmy to the boat out to get it ready for the season. Valerie and i went for a nice long walk in the metro parks!

Sunday night was cold and rainy but we grilled out on our new grill! John made a pork loin, catfish and potatoes. It was delicious and worth sitting in the cold!

Things I’ve learned about ice fishing!

* a pink rod is a must….you might not catch more fish but you will look super cute

*a lot of women and children ice fish…..more than i see during the summer

* sharp blades and the correct size blades on an auger make drilling a hole much easier…..also let the boys do that because their shoulders burn the next day 😂

*you must be willing to pee in a bucket

*you are sitting for long periods of time, so bring some snacks!
