Nature Walk

Slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures in life…

This weekend John and i went on a nature walk. We went to Old Woman’s Creek, in Huron Ohio. We were hoping to catch some eagles flying around, but I’m sure they were out earlier in the morning. It was a warm morning, but it was beautiful. The park has several dozen small bird houses that attract so many different species of birds! We also saw a bullfrog and tons of chipmunks. On the creek there was a couple kayaking. They were as happy about the beautiful day as we were.

Did someone say coyote?

My amazing husband took me on a hike in rural Ohio. As we were walking into the woods we passed a father and son. They were dressed in camouflage and the father had a rifle over his shoulder. John asked him if they had any luck and he replied “no we were hoping to have some coyote sightings!” What???? Where did my husband bring me? I was so anxious but there was something so calming about breathing the brisk air and hearing only the cracking of our footsteps and gunfire in the distance. We only saw a few birds, but the scenery was breathtaking. It was 30 degrees out and the sun was peaking in and out of the clouds. We walked through the woods, up by Spencer Lake, and through an open field. Best way to spend a Saturday!
