Update on my lifestyle changes!

These last four weeks have been amazing. I feel like a new person. My headaches are gone, my resting heart rate is lower, I’m sleeping so much better, and my energy level is way up. And might i add I’m only drink one cup of coffee a day. What!?!?! I have completely eliminated processed sugars! Everything i put in my body is naturally giving me fuel and I’ve never felt better!

In just 4 weeks I’m down 12 pounds. I’m also down 8 inches and my body fat percentage is down 7%.

This is just the beginning of my new story but i would say I’m off to a great start. Huge shoutout to my husband who has fully supported my lifestyle change and has made it so easy for me. He truly is my biggest cheerleader. Also to my parents who adjust their schedule to eat on mine when we spend the weekend with them!

Re-writing my story

Midlife crisis? Nope just making small changes that will have long term effects on my life!

Three weeks ago i began eating clean. I have basically eliminated processed sugars, sodium, and preservatives. Basically if it comes in a box, bag or has a list of ingredients, i try to avoid it. I eat lean proteins, natural carbohydrates and healthy fats. I eat a small portion of each and i eat 4 small meals, 4 hours apart. Not a bite in between. Another huge change I’ve made is only 1 cup of coffee a day. This was huge because coffee is all i drank from sun up to sun down. I can have coffee more if i would like, but i have so much energy now that i don’t even need another glass.

Eating clean is so beneficial for your overall health. It helps resolve migraines, it eliminates causes of fatty liver disease, it decreases your chance for diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It decreases your chance of cancer and helps you maintain a healthy body weight. It gets rid of true body fat and helps you sleep better. Basically your quality of life is better!!!

I’ve also started making other small changes in other parts of my life. I only use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. I use a natural lotions and toothpaste. Fun fact when you remove all the chemicals from you toothpaste it no longer foams up. Scary to think what i was using before. I buy soap capsules and make my own hand soap in glass containers. I drink filtered water from reusable water bottles only.

I went on a purging spree in my closet. If i don’t wear it, donate it. If it is too small, pack away in the garage. Once my current clothes become to big I’m going to burn them all because I’m never going back to that unhealthy lifestyle.

Decluttering your environment is beneficial in so many ways. It alleviates stress and allergens. It helps you sleep better and helps cultivate a happy environment. It’s calming for everyone. We all to often just buy crap that we don’t need. We have clothes we never wear. We have stuff we never use. I’d much rather enjoy the world around me and all that Mother Nature has to offer!

So cheers to my new story. It’s the same me only much better.
